Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
Ms. Bardugo knows how to spin a tale and draw you into her world.
Just like a sequel to a great movie, you always wonder if it will live up to its name. Six of Crows was as marvelous, creative, suspenseful read. I searched for the sequel, Crooked Kingdom and opened the cover. After about 100 pages, I was still reading but felt that the intense drama was lacking. Still, I wanted to give the author her due. I kept reading. She didn’t disappoint, it was as great read, a great ride but different. More of a labyrinth of ideas then a new land that took your breath away. But the villains got what they deserved (very satisfying), and Kax and Inej….ahhh, I shouldn’t say and spoil that for you. Read it. You won’t be disappointed. It brought a tear to my eye and I was sad when the cover closed.
